Biography[]
Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F[]
A few months back, Sam was pressured into mulling drugs for his uncle Chalino Valdemoro as a one-time gig. He got in the car with a man he would later learn was an undercover cop named Copeland. They were driving when Copeland spots an SUV tailing them. He tried to call someone but his phone wasn't working, so he panicked. He claimed someone jammed his phone. Someone pulled up next to them and a masked man shot Copeland. Sam steered the car into their SUV but lost control and hit a pole. Next thing he knew, he woke up with a gun his lap and Copeland's body next to him. Sam was arrested for murdering a cop. Police Detective Billy Rosewood heard about the case and instantly believed there was more to the story, since he suspected Captain Cade Grant, the arresting officer, of being dirty. His Chief John Taggart and the detective assigned to the case Bobby Abbott didn't believe Rosewood, so Rosewood called his surrogate niece Jane Saunders to ask if she knew anyone in her law firm willing to take the case pro-bono - Jane volunteered herself.
She went to meet Sam and explained she was there to help him. He eventually believed her and opened up about what occurred that night. She successfully petitioned the court for a change in counsel and made her motion to subpoena Copeland's financial records as she planned to claim he was a dirty cop. This angered many people, and she was attacked in her car as the assailants demanded she drop the case. The incident caused Rosewood to contact Jane's estranged father Axel Foley, who returned to Beverly Hills to help his daughter solve the case. Through days of investigative work, they learned Captain Grant had enlisted Copeland to help run drugs through Beverly Hills. Copeland wanted out of the business and was going to blow the cover on the operation, so Grant had him killed. He then staged the car to make it appear Sam was the murderer. However, he didn't expect Copeland to have a low-grade security camera in the car that captured the attack. When Axel, Jane, and Bobby found the SD card containing the video, they successfully freed Sam.
